Going the Extra Mile – Futures of Palm Beach

Today I’d like to give a tip of the hat to Futures of Palm Beach, located in Tequesta, Florida.

This is a well-rounded rehabilitation program that is well-respected in the industry for their comprehensive approach toward treating all displayed disorders within an individual.

As a master addiction counselor and former clinical supervisor now with my own practice, I have developed a fine appreciation of other people and programs that seem to go the extra mile when it comes to reaching out to those who may or may not realize that they need help.

The founding Executive Director, Tim Worden, PhD identified a weakness in traditional dual diagnosis cases, and created a program that offers equal consideration and therapeutic courses for those dealing with co-occurring disorders.

From anxiety to schizophrenia, ADHD to eating disorders, Worden believes that a balanced approach, that addresses both substance abuse and psychiatric disorders in tandem is the most effective way to treat the whole person.

Place this philosophy in the middle of a tropical paradise and staff it with capable and caring professionals, and you have the recipe for a successful kick-start to successful sobriety.

Futures of Palm Beach –  Blog Life-Saving Info

Another element that I so appreciate about Futures of Palm Beach is their blog which offers practical and possible life-saving information to its readers. A great balance of inspirational and motivational stories mixed with tips to get through typical trigger points and in-depth detailed analysis of various stages of addiction recovery.

Most recently, detox and withdrawal from cocaine and heroin were addressed, and these blogs are no fluff-pieces.

Written to help addicts and those who love them identify symptoms, what to expect when quitting, and best practices including the seeking of professional assistance, these blogs make complicated issues much more understandable to the general public. Again – going the extra mile.

Outreach Coordinator Vance Johnson

Recent addition of former NFL receiver Vance Johnson (Denver Broncos, 1985-1995) to the position of Outreach Coordinator is a fantastic move in the right direction.

Johnson’s celebrity as part of the legendary “Three Amigos” (Vance Johnson, Ricky Nattiel and Mark Jackson) makes him a great spokesperson for the organization. But it’s Johnson’s own sobriety story following the death of his 19 year old son, Vaughn Johnson that brings everything into perspective.

Today, Johnson goes the extra mile on behalf of Futures of Palm Beach.
