On a recent trip to Jacksonville, Florida I was able to visit Lakeview Health Addiction Treatment and Recovery. From the moment of my first interaction with the staff of these facilities (they maintain separate men’s and women’s facilities – more on that in a bit), I was impressed with the level of professional and empathetic avenues of treatment in place there.

Lakeview Health

Their program is robust and evidence-based in approach. Services include Medically Monitored Detox, Inpatient Rehab Program, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Aftercare Services, Professionals Program and Pain Recovery Services.  Integrated within the program is a well-rounded treatment platform ranging from the Leadership Team to the Medical & Psychiatric Team, Clinical Staff, Recovery Coaches, Health & Wellness Team, and the Head Chef.  They each share a commitment to helping their clients achieve and maintain lifelong sobriety.

And, as I mentioned previously, they operate separate, gender-specific treatment facilities, recognizing the unique characteristic differences and challenges of men and women. Lakeview are considered pioneers in this gender-responsive programming, and they believe that it maximizes the relative strengths of each gender, and provides significantly more positive outcomes than typical co-ed programs.

Located on 12 acres in Jacksonville, the campus is peaceful and gorgeous. They have recently opened a new Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient program just north of Houston, Texas in the community known as the Woodlands, and we celebrate their growth.

Special thanks to Seth Born, Client Services Representative for hosting my visit. I was able to meet with Dino Liverano, M.S., LMHC – Clinical Manager, The Star of Lakeview. (This is the men’s facility, and Dino clearly demonstrated his competent leadership). I also met with Neil Palmer – Case Manager, Ryan Harms – Aftercare Coordinator, Lauren Stobbie, M.S., CSCS, USAW – Health and Fitness Program Supervisor and Ashley Harms – Alumni Manager.

The Lakeview Health program is really doing everything right, and it excites me, as a clinician, that I am able to feel confident that referring a client there would result in a positive treatment experience and would build a strong foundation for future recovery and long term abstinence.
